Ranchi: The Jharkhand BJP will organise a month-long campaign from September 17 to October 17 to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 76th birthday, with a series of programmes across the state.
Announcing the campaign at a press conference in Ranchi, state BJP president and Rajya Sabha MP Aditya Sahu said the party would observe the occasion as the “Seva Sankalp Abhiyan”. The campaign will also mark what the BJP describes as Modi completing 25 years in public service on October 7.
The party plans to light lamps at homes and temples on September 17 and decorate one village in each organisational mandal. The BJP’s youth wing will also organise blood donation camps on the prime minister’s birthday.
Other programmes listed by the party include Seva Smaran, Aangan Milan Seva, Kahani Badlav Ki, Seva Jyoti Yatra, Seva Setu Abhiyan, Jansevak Mahakumbh, a hackathon and innovation challenge, and “25 Saal 25 Kahaniyan”, under which party workers will write about Modi’s years in public life.
The BJP said the campaign would also highlight what it describes as the welfare initiatives undertaken under Modi’s leadership and reinforce its commitment to the goal of making India a developed nation by 2047.
Sahu also praised Modi’s record in office and credited his government with major changes in areas including welfare, agriculture and national security. These were political claims made at the BJP press conference and were not independently established in the statement.
The campaign will run across Jharkhand until October 17, according to the party.
State BJP general secretary Manoj Singh and media in-charge Yogendra Pratap Singh were also present at the press conference.
