RANCHI: BJP national president Nitin Nabin on Sunday highlighted the importance of booth-level workers during a gathering at Sukurhuttu in Ranchi, calling booth president Akash Kumar “our boss” and urging party workers to take Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s messages and welfare schemes to people at the grassroots.
Nabin joined BJP workers and villagers at booth number 249 in the Birsa Mandap Akhara premises in the Kanke Assembly constituency to listen to the 139th edition of Modi’s monthly radio programme, Mann Ki Baat.
During the event, Nabin called Kumar and mandal president Prabhat Kumar, who were standing at a distance, to stand beside him. His gesture highlighted the party leadership’s emphasis on the role of booth-level workers in its organisational structure.
Grassroots workers at the centre
Nabin described booth-level workers as the BJP’s real strength, saying they played an important role in taking the Prime Minister’s messages and government welfare schemes to the last person in society.
He urged workers to carry the messages of Mann Ki Baat beyond the broadcast and share them with their families, villages and communities.
Nabin said he had come to Ranchi to attend a programme and had the opportunity to listen to the radio broadcast with residents of the Kanke Assembly constituency.
Women’s economic empowerment in focus
After the broadcast, Nabin interacted with women and other residents, focusing on women’s financial independence and girls’ education.
Referring to the Lakhpati Didi initiative, he said the target of creating three crore Lakhpati Didis had been achieved. He called for continued efforts to enable more women to become financially independent.
Nabin said women’s economic empowerment strengthened families and contributed to the broader goal of building a developed and self-reliant India.
He also urged families and communities to prioritise children’s education, particularly that of girls, and provide them with opportunities to become self-reliant.
Tribute to Birsa Munda
Earlier, Nabin paid floral tributes to tribal icon Birsa Munda at the venue. He also planted a rudraksha sapling under the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign, which promotes tree planting.
BJP Jharkhand president Aditya Sahu, Union Minister Annapurna Devi, state general secretary Ganesh Mishra, former MLA Samri Lal and other party leaders, workers and villagers attended the programme.
The event combined the collective listening of the Prime Minister’s radio address with the BJP’s emphasis on grassroots organisation, women’s economic empowerment and education.
