Ranchi: Adani Enterprises will hand over 543 acres of land to the Jharkhand government for compensatory afforestation linked to its Gondulpara coal block project in Barkagaon, Hazaribagh.
The company won the coal block in the 2020 commercial coal block auction. The project involves 550 acres of agricultural land and 543 acres of forest land, which the state government has allocated to Adani for mining. In return, the company is required to provide an equivalent area for afforestation in different parts of the state.
According to officials, Adani Enterprises has so far transferred possession of 196.66 hectares for the purpose. The Gondulpara coal block is scheduled to begin operations later this year.
