Hindalco Industries has been honoured with the FAME National Award 2025 in the Diamond Category for its innovative Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. The recognition was presented in Delhi and highlights Hindalco’s exemplary Aviral Dhara Project, aimed at ensuring sustainable access to drinking water in rural Jharkhand.
Aviral Dhara Project: Tackling Drinking Water Scarcity
The Aviral Dhara Project focuses on channelising perennial natural water sources to provide a reliable water supply for households. Currently, the initiative benefits 502 families across six villages in the Gumla and Lohardaga districts, including Nindi, Tuimu, Barangpat, Kechki, and Kor Kotta. By managing natural water flows and creating a community-driven framework, Hindalco has reduced villagers’ dependency on seasonal or irregular water supplies, providing a sustainable solution to drinking water challenges.
Community Participation Key to Success
Expressing delight at the award, B.K. Jha, Head of Mines & Minerals at Hindalco, said the recognition was a result of the collective efforts of both the company and the villagers. He emphasized Hindalco’s commitment to community development and plans to expand such projects to other regions in the state.
The project was led by Neeraj Kumar, Head of CSR at Hindalco, supported by a dedicated CSR team. The initiative has received widespread recognition for creating a sustainable, community-driven model for water resource management.
