Jharkhand Begins Strategic Engagements at WEF 2026 in Davos

Jharkhand formally commenced its participation at the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting 2026 in Davos with a series of structured, high-level engagements aimed at strengthening long-term international partnerships and attracting responsible investment.

Led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, the State delegation positioned Jharkhand as an active participant in global economic and policy discussions, signalling a shift from regional engagement to deeper global integration.

On the opening day, interactions were held primarily at the India Pavilion and the Jharkhand Lounge, where senior leaders from global corporations, international business councils, and institutional partners engaged with the delegation. The discussions reflected Jharkhand’s focus on industrial manufacturing, technology, sustainability, and institutional cooperation.

Key meetings included discussions with Tata Steel, reaffirming Jharkhand’s historic role in India’s industrialisation and its transition towards advanced and sustainable manufacturing. Engagements with Hitachi India explored opportunities in infrastructure development, energy systems, and technology-driven solutions, while talks with Tech Mahindra focused on digital transformation, innovation ecosystems, and future-ready skills.

The delegation also held meetings with representatives from Bloomberg APAC, the Sweden India Business Council, and the U.S.-India Strategic Partnership Forum, where discussions centred on investment facilitation, global market integration, and cross-border collaboration.

Senior representatives of the World Economic Forum also met the Jharkhand delegation, reinforcing the State’s commitment to participating in global platforms that shape long-term economic and policy discourse.

An interaction with the Women Political Leaders network highlighted Jharkhand’s emphasis on inclusive leadership and gender-responsive development as integral components of economic growth and governance.

In addition, visits to global technology pavilions on the opening day provided exposure to emerging innovations and future-oriented solutions, supporting the State’s objective of aligning industrial growth with sustainability and technological advancement.

As Jharkhand marks 25 years of statehood and looks ahead to Vision 2050, its opening-day engagements at WEF 2026 underline a clear intent to build durable international partnerships, attract responsible investment, and position the State as a future-ready and globally connected economy.
