Jharkhand Chamber Leaders Head to Davos for WEF 2026

The President and Secretary General of the Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI) departed for Davos on Friday to participate in the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2026 in Switzerland, as members of Jharkhand’s high-level official delegation.

FJCCI President Aditya Malhotra and Secretary General Rohit Agarwal left from Birsa Munda Airport, where they were given a warm send-off by Chamber members and well-wishers. Rajya Sabha MP Mahua Maji and her son Somvit Maji were present on the occasion, along with former Chamber presidents, executive committee members, sub-committee chairpersons, and a large number of industry representatives.

Speaking before departure, Aditya Malhotra said representing Jharkhand at Davos was both a matter of pride and responsibility. He noted that the delegation would strongly present the state’s potential in industrial development, minerals, green energy, renewable energy, and investment opportunities on the global stage. He added that under the leadership of Hemant Soren, Jharkhand has seen the creation of a more industry-friendly environment, which is expected to translate into new investment inflows.

Secretary General Rohit Agarwal said the inclusion of the Jharkhand Chamber in the state delegation was a matter of honour for the entire business community. He said interactions with global investors, industrial leaders, and policymakers at Davos would help identify fresh investment opportunities for the state and provide momentum to Jharkhand’s economic growth.

Rajya Sabha MP Mahua Maji said the participation of Jharkhand’s representatives at a global platform like the World Economic Forum would strengthen the state’s international profile and open new avenues for investment.

Joint Secretary Rohit Poddar described the development as historic, noting that this was the first time in the 25 years since Jharkhand’s formation that the state had secured such effective representation at the World Economic Forum. He said the initiative, driven by the Chief Minister’s efforts, would enhance investor confidence and help Jharkhand gain wider global recognition.

Several office-bearers and members of the Chamber, including Vice President Praveen Lohia, Treasurer Anil Agarwal, and executive members, were present at the airport to wish the delegation success.
