Jharkhand Chamber Expands Leadership and Connectivity

The Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce has undertaken a major initiative to strengthen the state’s business ecosystem by forming 65 subcommittees for the current session. The decision, approved by the executive committee and proposed by Vice Presidents Praveen Lohia and Ram Bangad, assigns sector-specific leadership to drive year-long activities across industries, governance, and social engagement.

The subcommittees cover a wide array of sectors, including Agriculture, Banking, Construction, IT & Data Upgradation, Health & Medical, Renewable Energy, Mining, Textiles, and Film & Arts. Specialized committees such as Youth Connect, Youth Entrepreneur, and Women Entrepreneur demonstrate the Chamber’s commitment to nurturing inclusive leadership and promoting innovation among young and female entrepreneurs.

Committees focused on coordination with administration, political liaison, and social organizations reflect the Chamber’s efforts to create a cohesive business-policy interface. Committees on Legal Affairs, Policy Suggestions, GST (Central & State), and Labour & ESIC aim to strengthen regulatory compliance and facilitate smoother operations for businesses.

Alongside this structural initiative, the Chamber’s Telecommunications Subcommittee, chaired by Sunil Kedia, held a high-profile meeting with BSNL officials at the Chamber building. The meeting, presided over by Chamber President Aditya Malhotra, saw the participation of BSNL Jharkhand CGM Vipul Agrawal and senior Chamber members including former President Pawan Sharma and Secretary General Rohit Agrawal.

The meeting focused on expanding BSNL services through a state-wide campaign, with plans to run awareness camps across all 24 districts. Under the “BSNL at Your Doorstep” initiative, the Chamber aims to provide new SIM cards at just ₹1, requiring only Aadhaar verification. The program will be timed with the upcoming Diwali festival, targeting both large and small businesses.

Discussions also addressed longstanding member concerns, including the removal of an existing tower on a member’s property in Giridih, with BSNL assuring prompt action. Treasurer Anil Agrawal proposed the provision of a dedicated toll-free number for Chamber members, a suggestion welcomed by BSNL officials.

The telecom initiative complements the Chamber’s broader mission to modernize infrastructure, improve connectivity, and support digital adoption across Jharkhand. By combining sectoral subcommittees with practical programs like SIM distribution and awareness camps, the Chamber seeks to create an inclusive, proactive, and growth-oriented business environment in the state.

Rohit Agrawal, Secretary General of the Chamber, noted that these committees will function as active forums, bringing together stakeholders to identify challenges, implement solutions, and create opportunities for economic growth and entrepreneurship.

With a structured approach spanning 65 sectors and innovative outreach programs, the Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce is positioning itself as a catalyst for business development, connectivity, and inclusive growth across the state.
