RAMP Initiative to Empower Jharkhand’s Women Entrepreneurs

The Jharkhand government has launched a fresh drive under the Centre’s Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) program to support women entrepreneurs seeking to expand their businesses. The initiative, implemented through Jharkhand Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (JIDCO), is inviting online applications from eligible women entrepreneurs till November 10, 2025.

A Step Toward Inclusive Growth

The RAMP scheme, supported by the World Bank and implemented by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), aims to enhance the performance and resilience of India’s MSME sector. In Jharkhand, the program focuses on creating an enabling ecosystem for women-led enterprises, offering both financial and technical assistance.

“This is a crucial step toward strengthening women’s role in Jharkhand’s economy,” said a senior JIDCO official. “We want to ensure that ambitious women entrepreneurs can access resources, networks, and skills to grow sustainably.”

Comprehensive Support for Entrepreneurs

Under this initiative, selected women entrepreneurs will receive structured assistance in:

  • Bridging the credit gap through financial guidance and linkages.
  • Technology adoption, innovation, and product development.
  • Branding, packaging, and marketing support.
  • Training through EDP (Entrepreneurship Development Program) and MDP (Management Development Program).
  • Access to skilled manpower and professional mentoring.

The program is designed to bridge systemic gaps that often restrict women from scaling up their enterprises. It aligns with the state’s larger vision of Atmanirbhar Jharkhand, where local innovation and entrepreneurship drive economic self-reliance.

Digital Application Window Open

JIDCO has invited online applications from interested women entrepreneurs via its official portal. Applicants must submit their details, along with relevant business documents, before November 10.

The initiative is expected to create new avenues for women-led startups, particularly in rural and semi-urban regions where access to finance and formal markets remains a challenge.

Empowering Jharkhand’s Women Economy

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the RAMP program nationally on July 30, 2022, as part of a long-term MSME strengthening agenda. Since then, states like Jharkhand have been tailoring it to local needs.

According to JIDCO, this round of applications focuses on scaling up existing enterprises rather than starting new ones. The goal is to transform women-led MSMEs into competitive, market-ready entities that contribute meaningfully to the state’s GDP and job creation.

A Vision for Economic Resilience

With Jharkhand’s industrial landscape diversifying across sectors such as food processing, textiles, handicrafts, and eco-friendly manufacturing, programs like RAMP could help unlock a new wave of inclusive growth.

If implemented effectively, this initiative could position Jharkhand as a model state for gender-balanced entrepreneurship where policy support, finance, and innovation converge to create sustainable opportunities.
