Aditya Malhotra’s Panel Wins FJCCI Elections

The Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI), the state’s most influential trade and industry body, elected its new 21-member executive committee on Sunday after a keenly contested election. Out of 4,070 eligible voters, 2,527 cast their ballots, reflecting a robust participation by the business community.

The results gave Aditya Malhotra’s panel a clear majority with 13 members, while the rival team led by Tulsi Patel secured 8. The newly elected committee will soon meet to choose its president, general secretary, and other key office bearers for the 2025–26 term.

Malhotra polled the highest votes with 1,939, followed by Vinita Singhania (1,688), Praveen Lohia (1,644), and Navjot Alang (1,637). Other prominent winners included Jyoti Kumari (1,568), Rohit Poddar (1,567), Dr. Abhishek Kumar Ramadhin (1,564), Aastha Kiran (1,557), Ram Bangar (1,551), and Rohit Agrawal (1,531). Patel, with 1,388 votes, finished 18th in the tally.

Election officer Pawan Sharma, who announced the results, confirmed that 44 candidates were in the fray, including two independents. Defence Minister of State Sanjay Seth, present during the counting, praised the peaceful conduct of the election and congratulated the winners.

Celebrations erupted among Malhotra’s supporters after the results. Speaking to reporters, Malhotra said, “This is not just our win, it is a collective victory of Jharkhand’s traders and entrepreneurs. We will work to ensure Jharkhand is recognized for its industry and trade potential.”

Women entrepreneurs also made significant gains. Vinita Singhania, who stood third overall, said she would focus on creating more opportunities for women-led businesses in the state.

The FJCCI, which represents the voice of Jharkhand’s traders, manufacturers, and service providers, is expected to play a crucial role in policy advocacy with the state and central governments in the year ahead.

What’s Next for FJCCI?

  • GST Compensation and Revenue Loss: With Jharkhand flagging concerns over a ₹2,000 crore GST revenue loss, the new committee is expected to lobby strongly for relief measures and reforms that protect state businesses.
  • Industrial Growth Push: Stakeholders are looking to the FJCCI to help accelerate industrial investments in sectors such as mining, manufacturing, logistics, and IT services.
  • Ease of Doing Business: The Chamber is likely to engage the state government on reducing compliance burdens, faster clearances, and improving infrastructure support.
  • Women and Youth in Business: With women candidates making strong gains in this election, expectations are high for initiatives that promote women entrepreneurs and startups.
  • National and Global Engagement: FJCCI is also expected to strengthen its links with national industry bodies and explore opportunities for global partnerships to put Jharkhand’s enterprises on a larger map.
