Tata Motors has invested an additional ₹120 crore ($13.5 million) in Freight Commerce Solutions Private Limited, known as Freight Tiger, to advance AI-driven freight solutions in India. This latest funding follows the automaker’s ₹150 crore investment in October 2023, bringing the total to ₹270 crore.
The investment deepens the collaboration between Tata Motors’ commercial vehicle ecosystem and Freight Tiger’s digital freight platform. Both companies aim to reshape India’s logistics sector by improving efficiency, transparency, and customer experience through technology integration.
Focus on AI-led freight transformation
Freight Tiger will use the new funds to accelerate the rollout of artificial intelligence tools designed to improve operational efficiency, generate actionable business insights, and simplify freight workflows. The company is preparing to launch new AI-powered features in Q4 2025, including a Vehicle Supply Density Platform, a next-generation Dispatch Planning and Procurement Module, and an Integrated Freight Desk.
TV Swaminathan, Vice President & Head of Digital Business, Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles, said the investment is aimed at creating a unified digital backbone for logistics in India. He stressed that Tata Motors is committed to building a connected and intelligent freight ecosystem powered by AI.
Expanding reach across industries

Founder and CEO Swapnil Shah said the company’s mission is to create speed and efficiency in freight movement across India. He highlighted that the partnership with Tata Motors will help build a logistics intelligence network that acts as a digital backbone for India’s economic growth.
Current scale and future targets
